DESCRIPTION

Released in 2021 as an addition to the Lowland distillery's core range entitled Classic Collection. Created by Master Distiller Nick Savage (who joined Bladnoch from the Macallan distillery in 2019), Vinaya, a Sanskrit word meaning respect and gratitude, pays homage to the distillery's original founders and heritage. Matured in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon and first-fill ex-sherry casks. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46.7%. (Bottle size 750ml)

NOTES FROM THE WB TEAM

Bladnoch is an interesting distillery that has had a very chequered history, having spent more time closed since the 1990s than open. Fortunately, under new ownership since 2015 the distillery has a new lease on life. For a brief time over the last few years, Bladnoch was available on SA shelves, and was surprisingly (but deservingly) popular with our customers. Sadly, like many smaller brands do in SA, it came and disappeared rather quickly, which spurred us on to at least source a once-off order to get some more.

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES

Nose: Sweet floral grass with boiled sweets.

Palate: Fresh green apples and chocolate with a hint of pepper.

Finish: Light and refreshing.
