Each year since 2011, Douglas Laing has released a limited edition of Big Peat to celebrate the festive season. This 2019 edition is created from malt whiskies produced at a selection of Islay distilleries, including Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and even the closed Port Ellen. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a natural cask strength of 53.7%.

Nose: Wood smoke and caramel salty fresh note, with a whiff of sea air.

Palate: Stoned tropical fruits nectarine and plum caramel and wood smoke peat smoke and big oily hit of brimstone.

Finish: Long lingering, with the ebb and flow between sweet and smoke.
