As the shortage of aged Suntory stock grew (including Yamazaki & Hakushu), the renowned Hibiki 12 Year-Old was replaced with "Harmony". The distillers worked hard to combine malt from Yamazaki and Hakushu, and grain from Chita (a grain whisky only available in Japan) to create a smooth, easy-drinking NAS (no age statement) blend. We can assume this whisky is younger than 12 years, because that was the point of creating it, but it's very difficult to find out what the average age of whiskeys included is otherwise. Nonetheless, it's highly regarded and a great stepping stone in the marketplace of fine Japanese sipping whiskies. Rose, lychee, hint of rosemary and sandalwood on the nose, white chocolate, candied orange peel on the palate with a subtle hint of Mizunara (Japanese Oak) on the finish.
